Work begins on our Patriot's Pen essay!! Personal interview due Monday.

Patriotic Songs

An essay on patriotism is a personal one. Think about why it matters. Consider why it mattered in different times of history and why now.
Three paragraphs:
Introduction: A quote is only one way to start a piece. You can also build up the essay with a strong ending sentence.
Body: This section explains your feelings on the topic and any connections you make to real events.
Conclusion: wrap it up thoughtfully

PATRIOTIC QUOTES
Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.
Adlai Stevenson

A thoughtful mind, when it sees a Nation's flag, sees not the flag only, but the Nation itself; and whatever may be its symbols, its insignia, he reads chiefly in the flag the __Government__, the principles, the truths, the history which belongs to the Nation that sets it forth. Henry Ward Bee

__Samuel Adams, quotes about Patriotism:__ external image yKXvpfLJv9grLYPXbkL0ISPExg0OMij_5Vvi9hm2b6cagSD0B4iqhByTdC5xg9f9HOv5cGAZCa3PWVtws-NTMXjXeLjd2kSa3kognpPCGiNK80jk0Qexternal image I-qnI0Ev2qlwvnv9K0f3glSwQtH-RtUuVaJD8rro7uhDqeS_ZNb0zsw2VB8NQt_VdvTXcYJrl5EeDBYh09JnQXqH6T6OU87QpNcunhfrNexuufqPqA
If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
Abraham Lincoln
